What’s poppin’?
I’m Stuart, a multi-medium photographer based in Lexington, KY. I specialize in architectural/real estate and automotive photography. I also specialize in consuming copious amounts of strawberry milk, so I figured I needed a career to support that fixation.
I’ve enjoyed making photos for a significant portion of my life, and I can still recall my first “good” shot. The Detroit Auto Show, 2012, a red Acura NSX, taken on one of my parent’s cell phones. I haven’t seen that photo in quite some time, but I’d probably throw up if I saw it now.
Fast forward a few years, I was gifted my first real camera, and I’ve been shooting ever since. Like most, I developed an interest in shooting the subjects that genuinely intrigue me. I’ve loved cars since the beginning, so that was a given, but I also found happiness in shooting architecture and exterior/interior spaces. I appreciate the intention and thoughtfulness (or lack thereof) behind how something was created, designed, or constructed.
In 2021, I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science. My major was Digital Media Design, with digital photography as my focus. Immediately after graduating, I was given a box full of film cameras that I had no idea how to use, seeing as I did not opt-in for the readily available darkroom classes in college. Sigh.
After a few YouTube tutorials and plenty of practice, film is a medium that I’ve been able to incorporate into my workflow and projects. I always look forward to using it, as the process and results feel so special to me.
I’m always striving to make something memorable, and I genuinely have a great time doing what I do. If you need a lovably eccentric photographer who probably thinks he’s funnier than he actually is, I’m your guy.
